MAGNETIC RECORDER

PURPOSE:To automatically cut out a commercial during the recording time by performing video recording only when a sound multiplex or stereo identification signal is present based on a discriminating signal of a broadcasting identification signal. CONSTITUTION:The discriminating signal of the broadcasting identification signal to be outputted from a sound detection demodulating part 4 is inputted to an automatic pause control part 21. Then, the automatic pause control part 21 is connected with a switch 22 for making a distinction as to whether the automatic pause should be effective and a system control part 23. Provided that this switch 22 is closed, and only when the sound multiplex identification signal or the stereo identification signal is present, a control signal is outputted to the system control part 23 to perform the video recording. By this method, an unnecessary broadcasting part such as a commercial that is not on the air in the multiplex or stereo system can automatically be cut out, thus promoting the usage property.
