Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To allow the detection by a polarizer or polarizing lens and to allow the application as a multivalued recording medium and information hiding medium by using the display liquid crystal element having chromatic anisotropy. CONSTITUTION:Molybdenum oxide or the combined oxide of molybdenum, etc., are used as the display liquid crystal element having the chromatic anisotropy. Such display liquid crystals can be made into a display device by arranging the elements in prescribed positions on a substrate. The arrangement is arbitrary and the detection by the polarizer or polarizing lens is possible. Namely, the waveform of polarization reflecting spectra are utilized and the recording is detected by segmenting the detection by the polarizing element to a wavelength region. The transmission of the multivalued information and the hiding of the information are attained in this way.
