Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject improver, composed of a copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer and an amino group-containing vinyl monomer and capable of imparting excellent printing characteristics and effects to coated paper. CONSTITUTION:The objective improver composed of a copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid, fumaric acid or vinylsulfonic acid] and an amino group-containing vinyl monomer [e.g. metylaminoethyl (meth)acrylate, methylaminoethyl (meth)acrylamide or aminoethyl vinyl ether] as main constituent monomers. Base paper is coated with a coating composition containing the aforementioned improver and dried with near infrared rays, etc., to afford coated paper.
