CONTACT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the deposition and breakage of contacts and the deterioration and fusion of a plate spring when a short circuit accident occurs by providing another moving contact connected only when a large current such as a short circuit current flows in parallel with a moving contact connected ordinarily. CONSTITUTION:A moving spring block Y opened or closed at the time of a short circuit is provided in parallel with a moving spring block X operated ordinarily, a large current at the time of the short circuit is shunted to both blocks X, Y, and the current flowing in the individual contacts is reduced. The moving contact 15 of the moving spring block X is pressed by a card 9 displaced by an electromagnet into contact with a fixed contact 20, for example, and it is released by the elasticity of a plate spring 14. A magnetic substance 17 provided on the plate spring 18 of the moving spring block Y is sucked to a magnetic substance 21 provided on a fixed terminal plate 19 when a large current flows. Two moving spring blocks X, Y are connected at the time of the short circuit, and the flowing current is dispersed.
