Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To reduce the susceptibility of a permanent magnet to rust, by forming a specific α-Fe2 O3 coating film on the surface of a surface-treated NdFeB-based magnet by heat-treating the magnet. CONSTITUTION: When an α-Fe2 O3 coating film having a thickness of 0.5-5μm, preferably, 1-3μm is formed on the surface of an NdFeB-based permanent magnet containing 28-35wt.% Nd. 0.9-1.2wt.% B, and Fe, with the Nd being able to be substituted partially with another SE metal, the susceptibility of the permanent magnet or rust can be reduced. In addition, the surface of the magnet can be passivated by heat-treating the treated magnet at a temperature from 600 deg.C to the sintering temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere. |
