Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To ensure operability to some extent and to prevent the increase of a cost by storing a program for fail safe, according to which the one computer acts for control made by the other computer, in a computer for controlling an engine and a computer for controlling an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:A program for controlling fail safe of an automatic transmission 2 is stored in a microcomputer 3 for controlling an engine. Meanwhile, a program for controlling fail safe of an engine 1 is stored in a microcomputer 4 for an automatic transmission. When the computer 3 is failed in operation, the computer 4 controls the engine 1 according to a program for fail safe stored in the computer 4. When the computer 4 is failed in operation, the automatic transmission 2 is controlled according to a program for fail safe stored in the computer 3.
