Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the settling of iron oxide particles in an aq. iron oxide slurry during storage by using a copolymer of a specified unsatd. carboxylic acid or carboxylate with a specified unsatd. carboxylic ester as a dispersant for the slurry. CONSTITUTION:An unsatd. carboxylic acid or carboxylate represented by formula I (where R is H or 1-3C alkyl and M is a cation) is copolymerized with an unsatd. carboxylic ester represented by formula II (where R is H or 1-3C alkyl and R is 1-8C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or alkylaryl) by emulsion polymn. or other method and the resulting copolymer is used as a dispersant for an aq. iron oxide slurry. An aq. slurry contg. stably dispersed iron oxide particles of 0.1-5mum average particle size can be prepd. by using the dispersant.
