Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance of titanium and a titanium alloy by forming Ti2Ni into powder having a specified size, sticking this powder to titanium or the titanium alloy and then, subjecting these to heat treatment at the specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:Ti2Ni of an intermetallic compound is formed into =400 deg.C and under a transformation point. In this way, titanium or the titanium alloy displays excellent corrosion resistance in nonoxidizing acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid and can be manufactured inexpensively and easily.
