The recording material 11 is thermally fused in liquid solvent material 12 according to its raised temperature, and this thermally fused recording material 11 is transferred to the recording medium 20 to obtain a transfer recorded image 80. At that time, by changing a heating quantity of the thermal head 30 according to an image signal, continuous tone recording can be performed.
