THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING, THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDER AND TRANSFER MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To enable a continuous tone image to be recorded on general image receiving paper by a method wherein a recording material layer is pressurized in contact with a recording medium via a liquid solvent material and besides, a recording material is selectively transferred to be recorded onto the recording material by performing selectively raising temperature write control of above-mentioned recording material. CONSTITUTION:A sheet state recording medium 20 is firstly brought in pressure contact with a surface of a platen 40, and is warmed by controlling to be liquified with a temperature controller 50 to a temperature higher than its melting point and so as not to generate fog transfer due to thermal fusion with a recording material 11 with a recording platen 40 via the recording medium 20 before reaching a pressure contact recording part 70a. Then, by selective raising temperature write control with a thermal head 30. The recording material 11 is thermally fused in liquid solvent material 12 according to its raised temperature, and this thermally fused recording material 11 is transferred to the recording medium 20 to obtain a transfer recorded image 80. At that time, by changing a heating quantity of the thermal head 30 according to an image signal, continuous tone recording can be performed.
