Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To absorb the shock in the collision with an inexpensive structure by forming a shock absorber sleeve with a thermoplastic resin material having the specific tensile strength, elongation at break, tensile stress at a yielding point and elongation at the yielding point. CONSTITUTION: A damper for a seat of a vehicle is formed by clamping a shock absorber sleeve 2 made of a thermoplastic resin to a supporting frame 3, and guiding a piston 1 having an expansion bead 10 inside of the sleeve for absorbing the shock in the front and back collision by a short distance. This sleeve 2 is made of a thermoplastic resin having a tensile strength σR of at least 40 MPa, an elongation at break R of at least 60%, a tensile strength at a yielding point σS of at least 40 MPa and an elongation at the yielding point S of at least 3.5%, for example, a thermoplastic resin mixture of polycarbonate and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer. Whereby the shock acting in both directions can be absorbed by a damper of inexpensive structure.
