Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:An optically active 1-cyano-2-methylenepentane derivative expressed by formula I (R is protective group capable of eliminating and selected from H, alkenyl, aralkyl, alkyloxymethyl, 1-alkyloxyethyl, cyclic alkyl having hetero atom and silyl group; R is protective group capable of eliminating and selected from H, 1-alkyloxyethyl, cyclic alkyl group having hetero atom and silyl group; X is halogen or R SO3 group; R is alkyl or aryl; * is asymmetric carbon atom). USE:Useful as a raw material for prostaglandins production. When the compound expressed by formula I is used, troublesome process can be saved and prostaglandins can be synthesized in a short process. PREPARATION:As shown in the reaction formula, an acetal derivative of 2- halogenoacrylaldehyde expressed by formula II is used as a starting raw material and passed through several processes to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
