PURPOSE:To attain the approximation between the regeneration of the using sense of a writing tool and the handwriting sense and the regeneration of the writing tools like a pen, etc., which are actually used by changing the display mode of a line like its thickness, etc., by means of the tilt information on a coordinate pointing tool. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 17 calculates the tip coordinates and the tilt of a coordinate pointing device 1 based on the obtained coordinate information. Then the CPU 17 decides the size, i.e., the thickness of the locus of the device 1 and writes it into a display memory 19. That is, the tilt of the device 1 is detected to the input surfaces of the coordinate input devices 6 and 7 when the coordinates are designated by the device 1. Then the display mode of the locus is changed in accordance with the change of the tilt of the device 1. Thus the display mode of the line decided by the locus of the device 1 is changed in accordance with the tilt of the device 1 and displayed. Then the using sense of a writing tool and the handwriting sense can be regenerated.
