ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of inferior images by specifying the volume resistivity and the surface resistivity of a surface protective layer and rendering the volume resistivity smaller than the surface resistivity. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by laminating on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer and the surface protective layer in this order, having a volume resistivity of 1X10 - 1X10 OMEGA.cm and a surface resistivity of >=1X10 OMEGA and the volume resistivity is rendered smaller than the surface resistivity of the surface protective layer, and since the surface resistivity is >=10 OMEGA, electric charge generated in a charge generating layer at the time exposure is injected to the surface protective layer, and the charge directly transfers toward the charge formed on the surface protective layer at the time of charging without moving laterally, thus permitting inferior imaging, such as bleeding on a copied image and image trailing, to be prevented.
