Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency and reliability of a monitor and control system by allowing a master station to call a slave station at a transmission speed set up in accordance with the degree of reliability of transmission. CONSTITUTION:At least one slave station, i.e. a terminal equipment 2, is connected to a central monitor and control equipment 1 to be the master station through a common transmission line 3. Each slave station is set up to a transmission speed corresponding to the degree of reliability of transmission with the master station and the master station calls each slave station at the set transmission speed. Consequently, the transmission efficiency can be prevented from being dropped without using an expensive wire material for the transmission line 3 and highly reliable transmission processing can be executed.
