PRINTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a printing paper from remaining in a fixing device by executing an ejecting action until the paper is not detected by a sensor in the case that the position of the paper based on a time measured by a timer means does not attain the position of the fixing device at the time of detecting the abnormality of the device. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a paper detection means 1, a fixing device abnormality detection means 2, a printing mechanism part 3, a printing mechanism control means 4, the timer means 5 for counting the time corresponding to the position of the paper which is being conveyed, and a judgement means 6 which transmits a paper feeding stop command to the printing mechanism control means 4 according to the output value of the fixing device abnormality detection means 2, the paper detection means 1 and the timer means 5. In the case that the position of the printing paper based on the time measured by the timer means 5 attains the position of the fixing device at the timer of detecting the abnormality of the device, the ejecting action is executed until the printing paper is not detected by the sensor 1. Thus, the printing paper is prevented from remaining in the fixing device even in the case of detecting the abnormality of the device in a state where the printing paper is not detected by a paper sensor ahead of the fixing device.
