AUTOMATIC MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR AMOUNT OF WAX OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To automate measuring operation and to improve the measurement accuracy and shorten the measurement time by providing a cleaning means, a measuring means, a calculating means, and an automatic control means. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning means M1 cleans a specific part of a sample with a solvent to dissolve out wax, etc., in the solvent and the measuring means M2 measures the absorption spectrum of the cleaning solvent. The calculating means M3 compares the measured spectrum data with a previously set calibration data and calculates the coating amount of wax, etc., according to the comparison result. The automatic control means M controls the respective means so that the sample set on the cleaning means M1 is cleaned with a specific amount of the solvent after the cleaning, the cleaning solvent is supplied to the measuring means M2 to measure the absorption spectrum of the cleaning solvent, thereby calculating the coating amount of wax, etc., by the calculating means M3 according to the measured spectrum data. Consequently, the amount of wax, etc., can be measured automatically, the measurement accuracy is improved, and the measurement time can be shortened.
