Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To miniaturize the title apparatus and to simply inspect the release damage on the track surface of a rolling bearing by selectively extracting the specific frequency band of the AE generated from the bearing and detecting an envelope. CONSTITUTION:An AE sensor 1 is mounted on a rolling bearing and the acoustic emission (AE) generated from the bearing is detected by the sensor 1 to be amplified by a preamplifier 2 and, thereafter, the 100 - 700KHz band corresponding to the frequency band of the AE generated from a crack is selectively extracted by a band-pass filter 3. Next, the signal of the aforementioned band is amplified by a main amplifier 4 and an envelope is detected by an envelope detecting processor 5 to input a beat component to a frequency analyser 6 and the analytical result thereof is displayed on a display device 7. When there is a crack, a peak is present at a specific frequency position, and the presence of damage can be detected.
