BUILT-IN TYPE AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE:To perform downward discharge of hot air during heating without exercising an adverse influence on appearance of a wall surface panel by a method wherein a louver positioned in the lowermost level of a discharge grill is rotatable so as to approach the lower end of the discharge port of a casing. CONSTITUTION:A louver 20 is rotatably mounted to a frame body 9 through an axle 21 in a position below the lower end of a discharge port 6 of a casing 7. The mounting position of the axle 21 is set to a position where the edge of the louver 20 approaches the lower end of the discharge port 6 of the casing 7 when the louver 20 is rotated. A blind plate 22 is arranged on the lower side of the discharge casing 7 in a manner to form a space 23. A refrigerant piping 8 and a drain pipe 15 are disposed in the space 23. During heating operation, when the edge of the lowermost louver 20 is positioned so as to approach the lower end of the discharge port 8, hot air discharged through the discharge port 8 flows along the surface of the lowermost grill piece 20 to a floor surface along a wall surface 12 to improve room temperature distribution.
