METHOD FOR COATING DRUM

PURPOSE:To coat the outer peripheral surface of a drum to a uniform surface condition without having ruggedness even if the surface has dents, flaws, etc., by specifying the viscosity of a coating liquid to a specific value or above and immersing the drum vertically into the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:The viscosity of the coating liquid to be immersed with the drum is specified to >=140cp. Even if the outside surface of the aluminum stock pipe, etc., of the photosensitive drum to be immersed into the coating liquid have the dents, flaws, etc., the coating liquid advancing into these dents, flaws, etc., is prevented from sagging at the time when the drum retreats from the coating liquid. The coating liquid is, therefore, dried while the coating liquid is held stagnating in the dents, flaws, etc., on the outside surface of the drum, and the coating to the uniform surface state without the ruggedness is thus executed.
