CD-WO DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent overlapped recording onto a recorded part and to attain accurate connection between the recorded part and a new recording part by detecting the presence of a guide signal and a radio frequency signal on a disk to control the recording. CONSTITUTION:Since no guide signal is recorded on a CD for exclusive reproduction, a detection circuit 6 sends the state of absence of signal to a microcomputer 8, which controls inhibit of recording. In the case of recording to a write- once CD, the detection circuit 5 detects an RF signal from the signal of a radio frequency RF amplifier 3 to move a pickup 1, thereby detecting a border between the recorded part and the unrecorded part depending on the presence of the RF signal. Then the recorded part and the unrecorded part are connected smoothly. Thus, overlap recording onto the recorded part is prevented and the accurate connection between the recorded part and the unrecorded part is attained.
