OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PURPOSE:To judge whether a light emitting element is defective or not at a glance by constituting a receptacle equipped with the light emitting element by using a transparent or translucent resin material. CONSTITUTION:The receptacle is made of the transparent or translucent resin material and part of the luminous flux emitted by the light emitting element 3 is passed through the material of the receptacle 1 and emitted into the air. Therefore, part of the luminous flux emitted by the light emitting element 3 is made incident on the material of the receptacle 1 made of the transparent or translucent material and when light which is reflected in the resin to travel repeatedly and light which travels straight as it is are emitted into the air, the whole resin is seen brightening. Consequently, it can be judged at a glance whether or not the light emitting element 3 is defective without peeping into a ferrule insertion hole, and the light is emitted to the whole or part of the receptacle, so the connector can be used for decoration.
