DISK STORAGE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a cartridge from jumping out of a stocker due to the external vibrations or impact by providing a mechanism which controls the rotation of a hook as necessary. CONSTITUTION:When a cartridge 14 is put into a stocker 2, a lock plate 7 is opened by a linear solenoid 8. A tip corner of the cartridge 14 touches a projecting part 4b of a hook 4 and the hook 4 is turned toward an arrow A with the component force of the touch. When the cartridge 14 is further inserted, the part 4b of the hook 4 interlocks a recess part 14b of the cartridge 14. Then a limit switch 10 works and the solenoid 8 is turned off. Thus the plate 7 is returned to its closed position via a spring 9. When the cartridge 14 is pulled out of the stocker 2, the plate 7 is opened like a case where the cartridge 14 is put into the stocker 2.
