Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject shaped material for filter, etc., readily tractable having suitable strength in dried state and readily collapsed with only adding water by dispersing activated carbon fiber, etc., in aqueous solution of water-soluble paste, shaping with dehydrating and drying. CONSTITUTION:At least a species of fiber of activated carbon fiber, carbon fiber and graphite fiber is dispersed and suspended in an aqueous solution of water-soluble paste, then the fiber is sufficiently entangled, thus shaped with dehydration and dried to afford the objective shaped material composed of entangled fiber and said paste attached to cross point of the fiber. Besides, e.g. water-soluble cellulose esters, especially hydroxyethyl cellulose, etc., is preferably used as said paste.
