PRODUCTION OF CAST IRON CLAD STEEL PRODUCT HAVING EXCELLENT VIBRATION-DAMPING PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To produce the cast iron clad steel billet having an excellent vibration- damping property by rolling a laminated iron or steel billet formed by laminating a spheroidal graphite cast iron and a steel product at a specific temp. and reduction ratio. CONSTITUTION:The laminated iron or steel billet is first constituted by laminating the spheroidal graphite iron or steel billet having the excellent vibration- damping property and corrosion resistance and the steel product having excellent toughness, weldability and moldability. This laminated iron or steel billet is heated at the temp. below the m.p. of the graphite cast iron and at 900 to 1140 deg.C in order to prevent the cracking under rolling. The laminated iron or steel billet is in succession subjected to the finish rolling at >=10 reduction ratio and >=750 deg.C in order to prevent the cracking and to prevent the deterioration in the toughness and vibration-damping property. As a result, the inexpensive production of the cast iron clad steel products having the excellent toughness and weldability is possible.
