DRY TYPE SEALING DEVICE FOR SKIRT IN PRESSURIZING TYPE CONVERTER WASTE GAS TREATING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To make sure of seal between a skirt and a lower hood by forming space filling up inert gas having higher pressure than pressure in a furnace at space between an expandable tube and a dust seal film at inside thereof at the time of pressurized operation in a converter to cut off the inside from the outside. CONSTITUTION:At the time of operating the converter 20, by blowing the inert gas into the space between the expandable tube 28 at interval of the skirt 21 and the lower hood 22, and the dust seal film 32 at the inside thereof, and the pressure in the space is higher than the pressure in the furnace and a part of the inert gas is caused to flow into near the furnace opening part through the dust seal film 32. By this constitution, sealing between the skirt 21 and the lower hood 22 is made sure. Further, as the high pressure gas in the furnace is not allowed to flow into the space between the expandable tube 28 and dust seal film 32, the dust is not allowed to flow and be piled in the annular recessed part 34 in inner face of the expandable tube 28. Therefore, the pressurized operation in the converter can be surely executed.
