PREPARATION OF THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To enhance recording image quality and operability by adjusting the tensions of the winding and unwinding parts of a coater applied when the coating solutions for a recording layer and an overcoat layer are applied and dried to specific ranges per the unit cross-sectional area of a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is formed by successively laminating a recording layer containing a color former and a coupler allowing the color former to form a color at the time of heating and an overcoat layer to a support composed of a polypropylene film or synthetic paper based on a polypropylene resin in a roll form. At this time, the tensions of the winding and unwinding parts of a coater applied when the coating solutions for the recording layer and the overcoat layer are applied and dried are adjusted to 5-50kg per the cross-sectional area of 1cm of the support. When the coating solutions are dried in the coater, the rear temp. of the support is adjusted to 65 deg.C or lower. The operability and recording image quality of the thermal recording material can be enhanced.
