ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body having an excellent sensitivity and potential stability in repetitive use by providing a photosensitive layer contg. a specific azo pigment on a conductive base. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contg. the azo pigment expressed by formula I is provided on the conductive base. In the formula I, Ar denotes a arom. hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group which may be combined via a bond group or may have a substituent; Cp denotes a residual coupler group having a phenolic hydroxyl group; Cp is the residual coupler group expressed by formula II; n denotes 1 to 4 integer. In the formula II, X denotes the residual group necessary for forming a polycyclic arom. ring, etc., such as naphthalene ring; R1 denotes a hydrogen atom, alkyl group which may have a substituent, etc.; A denotes a bivalent arom. hydrocarbon group, etc.; A' denotes an arom. hydrocarbon group, etc.; Z denotes an oxygen atom, etc.; m denotes 0 or 1 integer. Thus, the practicable high-sensitivity characteristic and the stable potential characteristic in repetitive use are obtd.
