METHOD OF CONVERTING IDENTIFIER AND CONTROL BLOCK SELECTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To improve the mapping efficiency of the identifiers of physical and logical links by using identifiers from routines realizing respective architectures for generating pointers showing the appropriate control blocks of respective notice sessions. CONSTITUTION: Information which is to be transmitted to the other system by a prescribed application program to a transmission layer 18 from a host SNA(system network architecture) layer. Data or control information can be contained in transmitted information. The layer 18 transmits information to the route control layer 16 of SNA and the layer 16 transmits it to an interface 10. The interface 10 converts information and transmits it to the network layer 24 of X 25. The layer 22 controls information transfer to the other computer system. Data received from a remote system is similarly transmitted in an opposite order. Input information is received by the layer 20 and is transmitted to the layer 22.
