DOCUMENT PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To allow the definition of a display position of a floating frame and the display processing of a document to cooperate with each other by constituting a document processor so that before line management data of each line of the document is updated, frame existence information in the data is checked, and when a frame exists, frame information becomes invalid, and when the frame exists after the line management data is updated, the frame information becomes valid, and the display position of the frame is reset. CONSTITUTION:The document processor is provided with a line management data memory 7 for holding line management data containing display image information and frame existence information of the line concerned at every line of a document, a frame information memory 4 for holding frame information for managing logically an area of a frame, and a display control means 5. In such a state, in the case of executing a redisplay of the document and the frame in response to an editing operation of the document, before the line management data is updated, frame existence information in the data is checked and when the frame exists, frame information corresponding to the frame becomes invalid so that the frame cannot be displayed. Also, after the line management data is updated, when the frame exists in the data, a display position in the frame information corresponding to the frame is reset and the frame information becomes valid and the frame is displayed. In such a way, the cooperating with the display of every one line of the document, the frame can be moved and displayed.
