MEASURING APPARATUS OF EXPANDING PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To automatically and continuously measure the expanding property of a thread of synthetic fiber or the like by changing a load while moving a sample hanger hanging a sample and measuring the expanding state of the sample. CONSTITUTION:A fiber thread S to be measured which is suspended by a sample hanger 1 with a light load A is set in a chain 23 provided with an attachment in a standby part PO. A sprocket wheel 22 is rotated at a constant speed thereby to move the hanger 1 gradually. When a load supporting tool 32 runs on a lifter rail 31 downwards, a heavy load B comes downward and the loads A and B act on each other. Then, the length of the sample is measured by a light projecting part 41 and a photodetecting part 42, operated by a microcomputer 52 and output to a display 53 and a printer 54. Accordingly, the expanding property of the thread can be automatically and continuously measured.
