PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING VOLATILE MATER FROM SOIL AND MATERIAL COMPARABLE THERETO

PURPOSE: To more effectively and economically eliminate a volatile matter by inserting the material of being purified into a closed processing chamber, and cyclically supplying a sub-inactive substrate into the closed processing chamber until the material reaches a desirous purified degree. CONSTITUTION: A dug up soil containing a noxious matter is piled up in a cup-shaped body 2 as a deposit. In the interior of the deposit 3, a perforated tube 4 is arranged by putting a space between each other in a place having a slight space form a bottom plate 1. An air as an inert gas is supplied into the perforated tube 4 through a conduit 5. An air loaded with the noxious matter by passing through the deposit is sucked from the cup-shaped body 2 through the conduit 6, and then further supplied into an active carbon gas purifying device 7. A noxious matter-loaded air is made so as to enter the gas purifying device 7 after passing through a compressor 8 and a cooler 25 for the separation. After passing through the device 7, a purified gas is again compressed by the compressor 8, if circumstance requires, the purified gas is again supplied into a polluted soil through the conduit 5 by passing through a heat exchanger 24.
