Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain plate-like basic calcium carbonate which is suitable for the intermediate source of plate-like calcium carbonate by specifying the shape and particle size of the basic calcium carbonate. CONSTITUTION:The plate-like calcium carbonate is specified to have the average maximum diameter of 0.2-5.0mu, average minimum diameter of 0.1-4.0mu of the plate-like particles, the average maximum diameter/average minimum diameter of 0.4-1.0, average thickness of 0.06-0.9mu and average maximum diameter/ thickness ratio of 5-80. This plate-like basic calcium carbonate can be obtained, for example, by preparing milk of lime to start carbonation. In the process of carbonation, the milk of lime is maintained at =0.2 from the pH value before introduction of CO2.
