INK JET PRINTER

PURPOSE:To clean a film and the vicinity of a thermal head during the running of the film by mounting a cleaning mechanism which consists of a cleaning liquid discharge part and a recovery part disposed on the both sides of the film surface to wash an ink remaining on the surface of the film and in a large number of pores after recording. CONSTITUTION:Simultaneously with the start of printing, an end-type film 8 runs and a washer liquid supply roller 9 rotates by a frictional force. In this manner, an ink on the surface of the film can be scraped without the wear of the film. A washer liquid absorbing roller 10 disposed opposedly to the washer liquid supply roller 9 prevents an excess liquid after washing from dripping into a device to realize a stable printing. At a completion of printing or during a quiescent time, a drive mechanism moves an ink applying part 11 to make it separate from the end-type film 8, and an excess ink is recovered to the washer liquid absorbing roller 10.
