Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for individual input of a unit graph by the operator and to simplify the input job by applying tracing processing by a prescribed procedure based on an input data of a form comprising an enclosed graph and a split line so as to recognize the unit graph. CONSTITUTION:A drawing machine 20 enters an enclosed graph and split lines on a 2-dimensional coordinate system to recognize the cross points between the graph and the split lines and between the split lines and line segments tying them. Then a start point is selected on the coordinate system and a trace start line segment whose turning center is the start point is selected. Then a trace line segment taking its turning center to an end point of the trace start line segment is selected and an end point of the trace line segment is recognized. When the end point is decided to be the same as the start point, a graph formed by the tracing path from the start point is used as a unit graph. Then all unit graphs are recognized. Thus, it is not required for the operator to enter the unit graph individually and the input job is simplified.
