Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To prevent small bending and an increase in loss and to prolong the life by injecting jelly into a spacer housing optical fibers in grooves from a delivery core and then imparting tension to the spacer before and behind a jelly injecting device to press-fit the jelly therein. CONSTITUTION:A brake imparting device 13 is provided between the delivery core 6 and the jelly injecting device 7 and an auxiliary take-off machine 14 is provided on the inlet side of the jelly injecting device 7. The jelly is injected into the spacer grooves while tension is imparted to the spacer 2 through the jelly injecting device 7. A dancer roll 15 is provided between the auxiliary take-off machine 14 and an extruder 9 to regulate the tension of the spacer 2 on a winder 12 side. The spacer 2 in which the fibers are housed is imparted with the prescribed tension by the brake imparting device 13 from the delivery core 6 and is then injected with the jelly in the injecting device 7. This spacer is taken off by the one-end auxiliary take-off machine 14 by which the tension is released. The spacer is thereafter applied with a sheath by an extruder 9, is cooled in a cooling chamber and is taken-off/wound by a take-off machine 11 and a winder 12. Since the small bending and the increase in loss are prevented, the longer life of the fibers is obtd. |
