MAGNETIC RECORDING CARD

PURPOSE:To realize a magnetic recording card provided additionally with a security function by providing magnetic bars comprising a soft magnetic material on a magnetic recording part of a magnetic recording card, in a pattern of confidential information characteristic of the card. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic recording card comprises a second layer on a magnetic recording part, the second layer comprising a layer 3 containing a soft magnetic material and a layer 4 not containing any soft magnetic material. The magnitude of a magnetic field leaking to the surface from a magnetized magnetic layer of the magnetic recording part, in the areas of the layer 3 is about two times that in the areas of the layer 4. The magnitude of the leakage magnetic field is read as the magnitude of a reproduction output voltage, whereby the presence of magnetic bars constituted of the soft magnetic material is verified, and the information recorded in the form of the magnetic bars is read as a magnetic record output. When a magnetic record of a magnetic recording card obtained by duplication of the magnetic recording card in which the information is recorded by the above method is again written into a magnetic recording card, the duplicate magnetic recording card does not have the confidential information recorded in the original magnetic recording card as the magnetic bar pattern.
