Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide an antihemolytic agent containing an N-acetyl-neuraminic acid salt as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains the compound of formula (n is 1 or 2; Z is H, Li, K, Na, ammonium or organic ammonium when n=1 and is Ca, Ba or Mg when n=2) as an active component. The component of formula can be produced by neutralizing N-acetyl-neuraminic acid with hydroxide or carbonate of alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal and separating the corresponding salt from the reaction system.
