ENTANGLING DETECTOR OF SUSPENSION TAIL CORD FOR ELEVATOR

PURPOSE:To prevent such a possibility that an elevator is operated in leaving a tail cord entangled intact, thereby giving damage to this tail cord and equipment, completely from occurring by installing a controller which discriminates a fact that a transmitting wave is received by waiting a proper time lag ranging from transverse wave signal wave transmittion to transverse wave reception as corresponding to suspension length of the tail cord varying together with an elevator cage going up and down. CONSTITUTION:A lateral signal wave out of a transmitter 11 is propagated in the longitudinal direction of a tail cord 4, and time lapse till it is received by a receiver 12 is determined by length and tension of the tail cord 4. Conse quently, if the tail cord 4 is entangled with equipment or the like in an elevator shaft in the midway, the lateral signal wave is reflected thereat, so that a time lag ranging from lateral signal wave emission to reflected wave reception becomes shorted. A fact that this time lag is abnormally shortened is discriminat ed by a controller 13, and an elevator operation range is further is extended while a warning signal is emitted by a proper means.
