PURPOSE: To realize a printing on the surface of the whole periphery of a glazing by a method wherein the remaining tampon surface fundamentarily corresponds to a printing pattern arranged on a frame under the condition that a recessed part is provided in a large area on the surface of a tampon arrange in the cylindrical roller main body of a tampon roller. CONSTITUTION: A groove 9 having a closed-loop curve is provided on a plate roller 1 and corresponds to the shape of a frame 10 to be printed to a glazing 11 having the shape of the ink groove 9. The outer diameter of a tampon 15 fits for the outer diameter of the plate roller 1. The shape of the tampon 15 corresponds to the shape of the ink groove 9. The tampon 15, which forms a printing pattern on the whole corresponding to a hollow cylindrical main body, on the outside surface of which a tampon having a desired shape is formed. The surface of the shape of a cylindrical segment outside the cylindrical main body performs a printing action. The height of the bar 16 of the tampon 15 depends on the characteristics of the material employed on the tampon 15. Further, when a printing is performed on a curved glazing, the height of the bar is properly determined depending on the degree of the curvature of the glazing. Accordingly, the height H of the bar 16 of the tampon 15 can be varied over a wide range.
