SMOKING PRODUCT

PURPOSE: To attain the sensation of smoking without burning tobacco by holding a carbonaceous heat source and a flavor aerosol emitting material in a noncombustible sleeve made of a porous ceramic material. CONSTITUTION: This smoking article consists essentially of an active element 11 wrapped with cigarette wrapping paper 14, a spacer tube 12 and a mouthpiece element 13. The active element 11 has a noncombustible tubular sleeve 22 made of porous ceramic having 1.1-2.0g/cc density, 0.5-100μm grain size and 50% porosity and contains a carbon heat source having a starry pass in the longitudinal direction and consisting of charcoal particles and a flavor bed 21 which emits flavored aerosol when it comes in contact with hot gas passing through the heat source. The aerosol passes through the expansion chamber tube 12, reaches the mouthpiece element 13 and enters the mouth of a smoker.
