Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To efficiently purify the waste gas from a vinyl chloride production by passing at first the waste gas through the first zone containing an oxidative decomposition catalyst, then through the second zone containing a combustion catalyst after heating the waste gas. CONSTITUTION: The waste gas generated at a synthesis process of the vinyl chloride production and containing the hydrocarbon, halogenated hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide is introduced to a heat exchanger 12 and the waste gas is preheated to 300-800 deg.C, preferably 350-730 deg.C. Then the waste gas is introduced to a catalyst layer 6 and passed through the first zone of the oxidative decomposition catalyst consisting of aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide and containing the oxide of Ba, Mg, etc. After that, the waste gas is introduced to a catalyst layer 5 and passed through the second zone of the combustion catalyst consisting of platinum and/or palladium. In this way, the waste gas is efficiently purified while keeping a thermal load of the catalyst in low. |
