PATTERN DATA TRANSFER SYSTEM OF CHARACTER GENERATOR

PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity necessary for storage in a CG library by deleting an undefined part of a character generator CG library in a disk apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A system of this invention for transferring a pattern data of a character generator consists of a device 5 such as a workstation or the like, channels 2, 4, a CG library, a CG library table 7, a memory 6 etc. Only the CG which is defined is stored in the CG library. The CG file table 7 is provided to indicate an address of a head and the number of characters, etc. within the CG file for each kind of characters. When a transfer of the CG pattern data is required from the output device 5, it is detected with reference to the table 7 whether or not the pattern is the one that is defined. If the pattern is the defined one, the CG pattern data is read from the library. Or, if the pattern is an undefined one, a preset address is read from a storage unit of a main body and transferred to the output device thereby to form the undefined pattern data.
