VALVE ACTION CHANGER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To enable the operational behavior of an engine valve to be more precisely controlled by changing over with a connecting means the engaging and diengaging conditions of three rocker arms comprising at least two rocker arms driven by a plurality of cams. CONSTITUTION:In the low speed running of an engine, second and third rocker arms 8, 9 can be angularly displaced relatively to each other while a connection body 36 and the third piston 24 are adapted to slidably contact each other. Only one intake valve V1 is operatively opened and closed and the other intake valve V2 is left closed. Next in the high speed running, high pressure working oil is supplied to an oil pressure chamber 27 of a connecting means 21 and when first and second rocker arms 7, 8 are set to the stationary condition and a guide hole 26, guide hole 32 and guide hole 44 are aligned with each other, the connection body 36 can be slidably fitted in the guide hole 44 of the third rocker arm 9 so that the first to third rocker arms 7-9 can be completely interconnected through the connection body 36. Under the connecting condition, both intake valves V1, V2 are operatively opened and closed.
