Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To decrease microscopical cracks in a magnetic layer consisting of the partial oxide of iron and cobalt having perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and to improve durability by providing a metallic intermediate layer consisting of an alloy of iron and cobalt formed by a sputtering method between a substrate consisting of a high-polymer film and the above-mentioned magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The metallic intermediate layer consisting of the iron and alloy produced by the sputtering method and having 200 to 5,000Angstrom film thickness is provided between the substrate consisting of the high-polymer film and the magnetic layer consisting of the partial oxide of the iron an cobalt having the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The prevention of cracking is not sufficient if the film thickness of the intermediate layer is below 200Angstrom . On the other hand, the cracks are heavily generated again and the layer is inadequate as the intermediate layer if the thickness exceeds 5,000Angstrom . The microscopical cracks in the magnetic layer are decreased in this way and the concentration of the stresses generated in the magnetic layer at the time of head sliding to a specific place is averted. The medium having the excellent durability is thus obtd. |
