OUTLINE DRAWING DEVICE FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIND

PURPOSE:To correctly draw the outline of the measured object by photographing the measured object such as earthenware with a video camera, fetching it to a memory, operating the boundary point of a picture from the data fetched to the memory and drawing this with a plotter printer. CONSTITUTION:The title device is provided with a digital picture memory 6 to A/D-convert an analog video signal from a video camera 4 and store as digital picture data and a picture processing means 7 to process such as interpolation for stored picture data, extract the outline of an object as a discrete point string and rearrange the point string. An X-Y plotter 10 to draw and output the picture processed data and an external storing means 90 to preserve the data as needed further are provided. The stored picture data are held as the point string of a value corresponding to the brightness level to the lattice point of the orthogonal coordinates on the two-dimensional plane, the interpolation processing is executed between respective point strings to exceed the suitable threshold value and the point string is rearranged. Thus, a smooth outline faithful to the measured object can be drawn.
