SOLENOID RELAY

PURPOSE:To relieve the impact force at the colliding time of contacts and suppress noise generation due to collision by reducing the speed near the stroke end of an armature through the action of fluid resistance of air, and thereby reducing the speed of the movable contact immediately before the movable contact contacting the fixed contact when the solenoid is to be energized. CONSTITUTION:The speed near the stroke end of an armature 23 is reduced by the use of fluid resistance of air in conjunction with armature 23. A boss 45 is formed in either of a magnetic pole and that part of armature 23 making contact with and separating from the pole, while the other member is provided with a recess 39. When the solenoid 33 is energized, the recess 39 is fitted on the boss 45, and the fluid resistance of air generated at this time will reduce the speed of armature 23 immediately before the armature 23 contact the magnetic pole. This allows reduction of the colliding noise to be generated at the colliding time of the armature with magnetic pole and colliding time of the fixed contact 26 with movable contact 25, and also the reliability in the contacting condition of the movable and fixed contacts 25, 26 will be enhanced.
