GENERATOR OF FUEL CELL

PURPOSE:To shorten the time between the interruption of operation and the restart by adding a heating means for insulating purpose in the insulating layer of a reformer. CONSTITUTION:The double layer of a primary insulator 2 and a secondary insulator 3 is placed in the enclosure of a reformer. A heating means for example, an electric heater 4 is embedded between the insulators. The electric heater 4 is being disconnected to a power supply during operation, however, after the reformer is interrupted, the power supply is connected to the electric heater 4 via a terminal box 5 so that the electric heater 4 is increased to the high temperature. Since the thermal difference between the inside of the reformer and the electric heater is reduced, the accumulated heat inside the reformer will not escape outside and therefore the radiation from the enclosure 1 means that from the electric heater 4. Thus the temperature of catalyst inside the reformer may be kept high and the time until the heat is increased enough for restarting be shortened so that the restarting may be effected within a shorter time.
