Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of pressure shock at the inlet range of a pulp and compression of pulp by moving a piston in a chamber immediately before the backflushing of a screen to discharge liquid from the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A piston 44 in a chamber 42 is moved by a piston moving means 50 to discharge liquid from the chamber 42 immediately before the backflushing of the screen 24 by the quick motion of the screen in a direction opposite to the flowing direction of pulp. The liquid performs limited compression of liquid in the screen and forms an empty volume at the reverse side of the piston. The pressure shock in the pulp inlet range and the generation of pulp compression can be prevented in the backflushing of screen by the volume available by the pulp near the pulp inlet 16.
