Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain a concentrated compsn. which can be easily diluted with water to standard concn. and viscosity by blending a specified soft cationic softening agent, specified alcohol and aq. matrix in specified proportions. CONSTITUTION: The softening compsn. is prepared by blending (A) a soft cationic fabric softening agent containing no branched alkyl derivs., (B) monovalent or divalent 1-5C alcohol soluble in water, and (C) aq. matrix, in the proportions of >=15 wt.% (A) and >=20 wt.% (B) to the total weight of the compsn. The compsn. can be easily diluted with tap water into standard concn., thereby obtaining a fabric softening agent having 20 cps viscosity. As for the cationic softening agent, die-soft animal fat-dimethylammonium chloride is preferably used.
